God endowed purpose or function(foremost) and the infinite 100% test (secondary) suggest what we need to learn more about. When we're innocent as a little child then Jesus yoke is light. Jesus loves mercy when we're living up to our measure of faith, in other words Jesus loves mercy when there's genuine ongoing efforts at becoming righteous. To whom much is given more is expected, and conversely. That *key* approach results in us progressively growing in our discipleship, in line with :-
2Pet 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
2Pet 1:6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
2Pet 1:7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
2Pet 1:8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Jn 5:3 "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." His royal law/commandment is to love God and our neighbours.
